Eligibility Criteria of Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme

The following requirements must be met by Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme beneficiaries:

Residence: The applicant must reside in Assam permanently.

Age Requirement: As of April 1, 2023, the applicant’s age must fall between 28 and 40.

Age Relaxation: Candidates in the OBC, SC, and ST categories are given a 3 year age relaxation.

Educational Background:

# General Category: The applicant must have completed at least Class 10.

Applicants from the OBC, SC, and ST categories should complete up to Class 10.

Professional Qualities: In order to engage in activities that generate revenue, the applicant should have the necessary abilities, knowledge, and experiences.

Bank Account: Prior to December 31, 2023, the applicants’ bank accounts must have been opened.

Loan Defaulter: The applicant shouldn’t have ever missed payments on a loan they had obtained from a cooperative or nationalized bank.

Government Service: The applicant should not be related to a government employee or pensioner.

Families: Only one member from each family is permitted to receive benefits under this program.

Registration with the Employment Exchange: Before April 1, 2023, the applicant must be registered with the Assam Employment Exchange.

Financial Assistance

To build micro-enterprises or service units, financial assistance will combine government grants and loans with no interest that must be returned after five years. The recipients would receive 2 lakh or 5 lakh in two installments, depending on their eligibility.

Skill Based Training

Selected beneficiaries will need to complete a one-month training program in a variety of educational and skill development facilities to improve their entrepreneurship, management, and accounting skills. Beneficiaries who participate will receive a stipend of Rs 10,000 throughout this time.
